Advise those candidates who have not been successful of this as quickly as possible and provide constructive feedback as to why.If necessary follow up with a 2nd interview for additional questions for the narrowed field of candidates (and a 3rd if an additional stakeholder's view is required).Do testing, only if absolutely required for the shortlisted candidates (no, not a free piece of project work for the business, just some psychometric testing if needed).Evaluate the answers to the questions objectively.Ask the right competency based questions (using Situation/Task, Action and Result (STAR) approach).Get the right people in the room, empower and trust them.In the majority of cases a decision should be able to be made from 2 interviews, sometimes it may take 3 interviews. ![]() Now is not the time to put candidates through the ringer with multiple unnecessary interview rounds (not that there is ever a right time to do this!!).
